I dropped the ball in neglecting the weekly “Mantra Monday” post yesterday, and I wanted to make up for it by including a great yoga mantra today, better late than never!
SA TA NA MA - This represents the Panj Shabad, which expresses the five primal sounds of the universe:
- “S” represents infinity
- “T” is life
- “N” represents death
- “M” is rebirth (The fifth sound is “A”
This is one of the most frequently used mantrasin Kundalini Yoga. It represents the cycle of creation. From the infinite comes life and individual existence. From life comes death or change. From death comes the rebirth of consciousness to the joy of the infinite through which compassion leads back to life.
